The DACA Emoji And Celebrities Who Are Supporting The DREAMers We Are With You Campaign
A little background…
September 5, 2017. The day the Trump administration officially rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, leaving more than 800,000 young adults—that came to United States when they were children and made their lives here—facing the prospect of deportation.
Enacted by former President Barack Obama in 2012, the DACA program allowed protection to the young undocumented immigrants, conferring them with legal rights to work and study in the United States.
It defined everything good about this country and its welcoming and loving people.
However, the rescission tarnished everything. More concerningly, it put the future of 800,000 immigrants and their families in doubt, as they now wait in hope that the decision may get overturned.
And sharing this hope with them, are the millions of Americans who stand in their support.
Stand the People of America in Support!
Just when the Trump administration announced its decision to rescind the DACA program, the people of America started gathering in full support of the affected.
Dreamers We are With You campaign was launched (and continues to being run), where thousands of Americans showed their solidarity with DACA beneficiaries.
This included celebrities, who joined the movement, hoping to tips the scales.
We saw Britney Spears sporting the “We are all Dreamers” t-shirt on her Twitter account.
Snoop Dog joined in:
Selena Gomez also went public in her support of the victims.
And some other well-known celebrities like Lin-Manuel Miranda, John Green, John Leguizamo, Mia Farrow and Cher.
With Whom Does GoDiversity Allegiance Lie?
GoDiversity is a certified minority owned advertising agency, and we are proud to stand with DACA beneficiaries in their support.
We’ve even created an emoji for DREAMers – a happy face scarfed by an American flag. Some like to call it the DACA emoji.
You can download the emoji by clicking on this link. The web page also provides “Create a badge for your social media profile” feature for those willing to go an extra mile in showing their support for the DREAMers.
We don’t charge anything for the service. We only want the DREAMers to be rightfully granted what’s theirs, that is, their right to call themselves Americans.
And we are willing to go to the last mile to ensure this happens.
Join us for the dreamer in you!
